ainda, fazer a predição do comportamento alimentar disfuncional. Participaram neste estudo
Portuguesa do Maternal Adjustment and Maternal Attitudes.
This study's main goals are to determine the prevalence of dysfunctional eating behaviors and to understand how these behaviors are associated with the adaptations to the pregnancy, body mass index, maternal age, physical exercise, the fact of being the first pregnancy, if this was a desired one and the psychological well-being, and also do a prediction of the dysfunctional eating behaviors. In this study participated 105 women in the third trimester of pregnancy and the instruments used were: the Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire, Brief Symptom Inventory and the Maternal Adjustment and Maternal Attitudes. The results revealed that dysfunctional eating behaviors in pregnancy seems to be associated with a higher body mass index, a more negative perception of their body image, greater number of somatic symptoms, poorer assessment of the marital relationship, more negative attitudes in relation to pregnancy and the baby and also a prevalence of emotional problems. Finally, a bigger body mass index previously to the pregnancy, bigger weight gain during the pregnancy and a more negative perception of their body image seems to predict dysfunctional eating behaviors. To improve the quality of maternal and fetal life we need to take into account all the dimensions and their associations found in this study. |
