nanotecnologia no currículo formal dessa disciplina.
Nanotechnology is an emergent technology that, gradually and in a subtle way, has been conquering people’s every-day life. The new products that are appearing bring with them not only a bigger complexity but also an improvement of the quality of life. This new technology can cause suspicion in the population because it is so recent and because it brings along so many changes. Besides it will be necessary to have specialized technicians to answer to the new demands. The function of the educational system is to form specialized hand working; however, the principal objective is to develop in the pupils the necessary skills to take conscious decisions, when it is necessary. The school is the ideal place to introduce nanotechnology to the population in a critical way, considering advantages and disadvantages. Here, we are proposing to adapt the National Curriculum of Physics and Chemistry by introducing, in the simple form, this new subject. So, a set of methodologies / strategies can be observed to teach the subject in this dissertation, introducing them in the heart of the National Curriculum of this discipline. The methodology was applied in two groups of the 9th grade, at one school at Coastal Alentejo, and the results were evaluated. This method constitutes a base of support to a similar project but more in-depth. |
